How Often Should a Small Office Actually Be Cleaned?

August 12, 2026 Lesis Hernandez

Most small offices either get cleaned far more often than they need or far less. Both cost you — one wastes money, the other costs you in how your space looks to a client walking in the door. The right answer comes down to three things: how many people are in the space, whether customers come in, and whether you have a kitchen or a restroom on site.

Under ten people, no walk-in clients. Once a week is usually enough. Desks, trash, restrooms, breakroom, and floors on a weekly visit will keep the space right, as long as somebody handles the coffee station in between.

Ten to twenty-five people, or clients coming through. Two or three times a week. Restrooms and the breakroom are the drivers here — those two rooms set the standard for how clean people think everything else is, and they degrade fast with more bodies in the building.

Anyone with a public waiting area, a clinic, or a shift-based operation. Nightly. If people are sitting in your lobby every day, the lobby needs attention every day.

Whatever the frequency, restrooms are non-negotiable. It's the one room where a customer forms an opinion about your whole business, and it's also the room that shows neglect the fastest. If you have to cut somewhere, don't cut there.

One more thing worth asking any cleaning company: who actually shows up? With a lot of services you get a different person every visit and nobody who knows your space. When you book with me, you get me — same person, same checklist, every time, and you can text me directly if something needs handled.
